Ramin Samandari
Ramin Samandari is an Iranian born photographer based in San Antonio.
His work explores themes of memory, identity and culture, and has widely exhibited
in galleries and museums across Texas.
This photographic series captures the surreal and ancient landscape of New Mexico’s Bisti/De-Na-Zin Badlands. Through high-contrast black-and-white imagery, the photographs emphasize the region’s sculptural rock formations, eroded textures, and otherworldly silence.
The images evoke a sense of time suspended—where wind and stone have shaped a terrain that feels both prehistoric and alien. This work is both a geological meditation and a visual exploration of solitude and timelessness in the high desert.
